This is a collage made from painted papers. It's not attached to the white background, I like that unmounted, it remains an object made from paper rather than part of a rectangular image. I often work in a marine based theme. It's unintentional. I guess it's from growing up amidst the Great Lakes. Lake Erie is a 5 minute drive from my place. Driftwood appears a lot on our local beach. I like that the shape of this collage reminds me of the rounded and smooth shapes of driftwood.

I've been having fun collaging found phrases with images and shapes made from my own hand painted, drawn and gelli plate printed papers. They work together, sometimes the words begin the process, but the shapes and colours of the scrap pieces I have laying on my table are just as likely to be my springboard. It amazes me how often everything just works together.

This funky landscape is the final result of a convoluted process. It started with making monoprints from a gelli plate. The monoprints were then scanned and opened in Photoshop, shapes were cut, drawing was done and happy accidents were allowed to happen.

The Mothership. Some cats are straight from the mothership but most were born on earth. That's why some cats seem like deep thinkers and are very serious while others are just into it for food, little balls of crinkled up paper and head rubs. One of our four cats is from the mothership.

Today I cleaned out my shed/studio in the side yar

Today I cleaned out my shed/studio in the side yard. It was much needed boost to my spirits. Given that it looks like we are in this holding pattern for quite a while, I've decided I need to spend more time in my happy place. This shed brings me so much joy. We live simply and I am so grateful to have this spot as I know many can't just trudge out to the side yard in the morning, coffee in hand, to escape the world and spend time in such a special little place.
